Time Capsule Part 2
For this week, we are continuing to make the three-week time capsule project. Here is part 2. We need to prototype our time capsule from last week.
Because some items in my time capsule are about music, I think music is a crucial part of my life so far; I started thinking about adding the sound element to my time capsule’s prototype.
In the end, I came up with the idea that the person who wanted to open my time capsule had to interact with it with sound.
I used an Arduino board, a piezo buzzer( it can detect the vibration), a button, a servo motor to be my box’s open system, and put my items inside this box.
The box locks when a button is pressed, and the user must knock the correct number of times on the top of the box. If the number is correct, the music note lock will open. In this way, you can browse my time capsule!
Step 1: Design the box and calculate its size.
Step 2: Draw the box outline on a piece of cardboard and cut it out.
Step 3: Assemble this box into place using the double-sided tape.
Step4: Write the Arduino code to detect the knock and rotate the servo motor.
Step 5: Fix the piezo buzzer inside the box.
Step 6: Fix the servo motor inside the box.
Step 7: Cut a hole for the servo motor to be the lock.
Step 8: Create the music note with the 3D print pen and stick it with the servo motor.
Press the button, the box will lock.
And I left a little hint for the correct times. ✊
